Mornington – Coastal Interiors

The Brief — A Coastal New Chapter

Moving to Mornington was a lifestyle change for this client. With her children now grown, it was time to create a home that reflected her own way of living — a place filled with beautiful, carefully chosen pieces that were both practical and meaningful.
Having purchased a lovely home, her brief was to furnish it throughout with all new furniture and create a dedicated home office to support her business. The look was to embrace a relaxed Coastal/Hampton Style, reflecting her new Mornington lifestyle while creating a home that felt fresh, comfortable and distinctly her own.
Creating a home filled with lovely things that supported the way she wanted to live in this next chapter.

The Personal Story — Coastal Style with Meaning

A Home Filled with Meaning

The Coastal/Hampton feel was kept relaxed rather than overly formal, with the furniture and styling selected to create a light, welcoming and comfortable home.
While most of the furniture was new, there was one piece that was never in question — a chess table handmade by her father. It held many loving family memories of playing chess together and was something she wanted proudly on display. We placed the Chess table in the front living room, where it could be enjoyed every day while overlooking the home’s beautifully established garden. It became an important connection between her new chapter and the family memories she wanted to carry with her.
Away from her work, she has a passion for healing oils and alternative health care, so creating a calm and uplifting environment that supported relaxation and wellbeing was also an important part of the design.

Outdoors — Extending the Coastal Lifestyle

Extending the Coastal Lifestyle Outdoors

The coastal/Hampton feel continued into the outdoor spaces, creating a relaxed connection between the home and garden.
The existing alfresco area was repurposed, while the spa cabana was redesigned to provide a more inviting space for relaxing and lounging. Part of the garden was also reworked to open up the space and create a better flow between the different outdoor areas.
Night lighting was introduced to highlight the property’s beautiful established trees and garden areas, bringing the garden to life after dark and creating an uplifting, relaxing setting to enjoy throughout the evening.
